Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers Announces First Recipient of the Alan H. Walker & Deborah A. Walker Scholarship

Sayre, PA – The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) is proud to announce Jessie Secules as the inaugural recipient of the Alan H. Walker & Deborah A. Walker Scholarship, CFTT’s first non-traditional scholarship fund.

This scholarship was established in tribute to Alan H. Walker’s enduring legacy of leadership, service, and community spirit, and to honor the exceptional bond he shared with his caregivers. It reflects a deep commitment to supporting compassionate individuals who are pursuing careers in the medical field, especially those who embody the qualities of empathy, resilience, and dedication.
Jessie Secules, a dedicated care partner at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital for the past two years, is advancing her education to obtain a nursing degree. Her story exemplifies the very values that inspired this scholarship: hard work, compassion, and a determination to care for others.

“This scholarship is more than financial assistance, it’s a recognition of the meaningful impact caregivers had on Alan’s life and a commitment to uplifting those who are following in their footsteps,” said CFTT Resource Development Associate, Joselyn Allen-Elford, “We are thrilled to support Jessie’s journey and know she will continue to make a difference in the lives of others.”

The Alan H. Walker & Deborah A. Walker Scholarship is CFTT’s first non-traditional scholarship, specifically created to support team members at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital who are furthering their education in the medical field.

Those wishing to honor Alan H. Walker’s memory can make a contribution to this meaningful fund by sending donations to 104 W. Lockhart Street, Sayre, PA 18840 or on our website at www.twintierscf.org.
