Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers Announces 2024 Recipients of the David & Carol Keeffe Youth Fund Awards and the Robert J. Sullivan Fund Awards

Sayre, PA – The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) is proud to announce the 2024 recipients of the David & Carol Keeffe Youth Fund Awards and the Robert J. Sullivan Fund Awards. These grants exemplify the Foundation’s mission to strengthen communities and improve lives across Bradford County, PA.

The David & Carol Keeffe Youth Fund focuses on enhancing outcomes for youth from birth through career readiness, with an emphasis on supporting high-performing nonprofits that strengthen families and empower young people. The Robert J. Sullivan Fund honors Robert J. Sullivan’s legacy by supporting initiatives that benefit the citizens of Bradford County.

David & Carol Keeffe Youth Fund 2024 Recipients
Child Hunger Outreach Partners (CHOP) addresses food insecurity among school-aged children through programs such as backpack initiatives, in-school pantries, pop-up pantries, and summer meal programs. By using proven strategies to close hunger gaps, CHOP ensures direct access to food for children in need. The grant will support CHOP’s ongoing efforts to combat childhood hunger in Bradford County, PA.

Supporting Area Families Every Day (SAFE) provides a neutral, supervised setting for child custody exchanges and visitations, ensuring the safety and well-being of families navigating domestic violence, mental health, or substance use challenges. Founded in 2017 by Heather McNett, SAFE operates in Towanda and New Milford, PA, offering parenting classes and fostering positive family dynamics. This grant will help SAFE enhance its services, increasing safety and support for families in crisis.

Robert J. Sullivan Fund 2024 Recipients
River Valley YMCA – Bradford County Branch was founded in 2006 as part of the RVR YMCA network, the Bradford County YMCA provides childcare, wellness programs, and youth-focused community services. The grant will support educational, safe, and healthy spaces for the community’s most vulnerable youth, aligning with the YMCA’s mission to strengthen the spirit, mind, and body for all.

The Children’s House/Child Advocacy Center (CHCAC) serves as a safe haven for children and families dealing with child abuse or neglect, offering forensic interviews, medical exams, mental health support, and advocacy through a multidisciplinary approach. The grant will fund trauma-informed parenting classes, equipping caregivers with tools to support the healing of children affected by trauma.

Supporting Area Families Every Day (SAFE) also received funding through the Robert J. Sullivan Fund. This additional grant will further support supervised visitation and custody exchanges, reducing children’s exposure to conflict and trauma while promoting healthy family dynamics.

About the Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers
The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers serves Bradford, Potter, Sullivan, and Tioga Counties in Pennsylvania and Tioga County, NY. It is a purely public charity, incorporated as a non-profit, that has been granted 501(c)(3) status by the IRS.

The Community Foundation establishes permanent endowment funds from contributions of many individual citizens, corporations, other foundations, other charitable organizations, and government agencies for philanthropic purposes.
