Eagles Mere-Laporte Lions Club Awards $25,000 Grant to Loyalsock Foundation via Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers Fund
The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) is pleased to announce that the Eagles Mere-Laporte Lions Club has awarded a $25,000 grant from its charitable fund held at the Foundation to the Loyalsock Foundation in support of The Summit: Center for Wellness, a transformative project designed to enhance the health and well-being of residents and visitors throughout Sullivan County.
For decades, the Eagles Mere-Laporte Lions Club has been dedicated to serving Sullivan County through volunteerism, fundraising, and charitable giving. Guided by the Lions’ motto, “We Serve,” the Club supports local nonprofits, community organizations, health initiatives, and projects that enhance the quality of life for residents throughout the region. Through its fundraising efforts, the Club raises and reinvests funds to support programs and initiatives that address critical community needs, including food security, literacy, emergency services, youth programs, health and wellness, and assistance for individuals facing illness or hardship.
Through its charitable fund at the Foundation, the Eagles Mere-Laporte Lions Club continues that tradition of giving while creating a lasting philanthropic legacy. This leadership gift reflects the Club’s ongoing commitment to investing in projects that strengthen the health, vitality, and future of Sullivan County.
The grant will support the Loyalsock Foundation’s efforts to develop The Summit: Center for Wellness, a multi-generational regional wellness and community center in Laporte. The facility is envisioned to include spaces for health and fitness, educational programming, outdoor recreation, and community gatherings, providing valuable resources that promote healthier lifestyles and stronger community connections.
