Grants Available to Assist Pediatric youth affected by Cancer

Sep 26, 2024

Sayre, PA, September 26, 2024- The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers, through its Jordan Wilcox Pediatric Cancer Fund, are seeking proposals from families that have children being treated for cancer. Any family in the counties of Bradford PA, Sullivan PA, Tioga NY and Tioga PA that has a child undergoing treatment for cancer may apply or any eligible non-profit organization that serves families with children with cancer. Grants from this fund are to help families cover costs that aren’t covered by health insurance, i.e., travel costs, housing, etc.

Jordan Mark Wilcox, son of Jodi Lattimer-Wilcox of Athens, fought a courageous 7-year battle with a rare brain and spinal cancer known as Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumor. Jordan will be remembered by his family and friends for his witty sense of humor, his bravery through the many years of treatments and his wisdom beyond his years. The family of Jordan Wilcox set up this fund to help families in four of the counties served by the CFTT that have children being treated for cancer.

If you know of a family who could use these funds, please let us know about them. If you are an organization that serves these families, please contact us. Funds are currently available, and the amount of the award will be a maximum of $400. Any non-profit organization applying for a grant must be an eligible recipient under IRS guidelines. To apply for this competitive grant, download the application at www.twintierscf.org.
