The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) and The Children’s House/Children’s Advocacy Center proudly announce JoAnne Babcock as the distinguished recipient of the 2024 Bill and Sarah Ransom Community Service Award. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon individuals who exemplify the values of community service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the Valley community.

Joanne Babcock has made substantial contributions to the Valley community through her professional role and volunteer service. As the Assistant Director and Lead Forensic Interviewer at The Children’s House Child Advocacy Center, she has dedicated herself to supporting child victims of abuse, ensuring they receive compassionate, trauma-informed care. Her leadership has strengthened the center’s services and improved outcomes for children and families in the Valley.

Joanne’s volunteer efforts extend to her membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge #1148 in Sayre, PA, where she participates in community service activities and charitable initiatives. Joanne’s involvement in these various organizations and advisory groups underscores her deep commitment to service, advocacy, and making a meaningful impact on the Valley community.

Nominated by Brittney Mink, Joanne was nominated for her tireless dedication to protecting and supporting the most vulnerable members of our community—children who have experienced abuse. Joanne’s involvement in the Children’s Advocacy Center Advisory Committee is a testament to her commitment to improving statewide practices, showing her dedication to broader systemic changes that enhance the safety and well-being of children beyond her immediate community. She consistently puts the needs of others before her own, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to heal and thrive.
